Sport Compact Miami presents...
PINKS! All Out - Miami, FLIf you watch the Speed Channel at all, you've seen the show or at least a commercial for PINKS!. The show is a "reality" type show where racers write in and are picked based on the ability of their car to race someone else for the title of their car (also called a pink slip). It's a best 3 of 6 race and they work out rules before it starts regarding what lane and the type of race they want. The "drama" unfolds in the form of "sandbagging" which is deliberately holding back in order to trick the opponent to think they can win. This occurs by using Nitrous Oxide without telling the other team they have it installed, or "pedaling" the throttle in order to prevent full power.
The "All Out" show has rules against sandbagging and all of the other "tricks" used in street racing. If they catch a racer doing so, they disqualify them. This means the guys have to unload on the their opponents and hope the best car and best driver win.
The shoot started in the early afternoon and was
running at 9pm. Rich said they were going to run until all cars
were done. To top it off, the temps were in the mid-50's which is
cold for us Florida folk. Even Rich had to grab a jacket to keep
warm! Enjoy the set!
